Terri Irwin Launches Caloundra Tourism Campaign

She said "G’day" to north America and New Zealand on behalf of Australia’s tourism industry, and now Australia Zoo’s Terri Irwin is urging holidaymakers to visit her own backyard on the Sunshine Coast on behalf of Caloundra Tourism.

The award-winning Australia Zoo is located in the Caloundra region at Beerwah and is a major drawcard for the region.

On August 29 Terri launched

Caloundra tourism’s new Caloundra television campaign and the latest edition of the popular Caloundra Holiday Guide at the Caloundra RSL function centre.

As a supporter of local tourism, the Caloundra RSL was proud to host the event.

Terri Irwin was involved in helping to market Australian trade and industry as part of the G’Day USA campaign in 2007 and G’Day NZ Australia Week in May this year. In addition she has on-going commitments to promote Australia Zoo and Australia Zoo

Wildlife Warriors around the world.

She received an Honorary Order of Australia (AM) medal in 2006 for

service to wildlife conservation and the tourism industry.

The new commercials, which went to air in September, splashed scenes of Caloundra across television screens in Darling Downs households.

A longer campaign was scheduled for Brisbane and regional markets in late October to pick up business between the end of school holidays and

Christmas.

The Caloundra Holiday Guide is distributed through visitor information centres and travel offices across Queensland and selected outlets interstate.

The Guide can be ordered online through the Caloundra Tourism

website.

The 36-page, full-colour publication with a print run of 65,000, is also distributed at the Brisbane Airport domestic and international terminals and RACQ offices.
